WEST BATH — Marty P. Johnson, 47, of Sanford Crossing Road, died unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 9, 2004.
He was born in Brunswick, July 29, 1957, a son of Archie L. and Lorraine L. Racine Johnson. He attended local schools and graduated from Morse High School in 1975.
He was a marine designer at Bath Iron Works since 1976.
On Aug. 20, 1988, he married Maria Brillant and they made their home in Bath.
He enjoyed working with and helping kids, coaching girls soccer at Mt. Ararat High School since 2000, was active in coaching girls basketball at Bath Middle School, Bath YMCA and the Bath Recreation Department, enjoyed tandem biking with his wife and participated in the Trek Across Maine five times, rode in the MS Ride and the Ride for diabetes, enjoyed hiking the trails of Maine and New England, working in his yard and his pets, Charlie the dog and two cats, Acadia and Bill.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years; both of his parents; two brothers, Michael P. and his wife, Shirley Johnson, of Nobleboro, and Scott D. Johnson of Manchester; a special friend, Fredericka O'Farrell and several nieces and nephews.
